Storm Events & Emergency Closures:

In the case of a storm or emergency event, call 425-486-9333 (NOT 425-686-0068) before bringing your child in if there is any question that we might be closed.
A message will be left on the 425-486-9333 answer message after 6:30am regarding child care closures due to extreme weather conditions or other emergencies. (We are unable to reliably email or leave a message at any other number when roads or power is out.) Please note that our teachers need to arrive and depart safely, and that they may need to travel much farther to get home than some of our families. This is also a factor in determining if we will be open during unexpected weather or emergency events.

Sick children are not permitted to attend class:
If children display any of the following symptoms: Fever of 100 degrees or higher within a 24 hour period, vomiting 2 or more times within 24 hours, diarrhea with 3 or more watery stools in 24 hours, draining rash, runny nose with green mucus, eye discharge or pink eye, or are too tired or sick to participate. HEAD LICE: we have a nit free policy and require proof of treatment before children may attend again. Children with lice or nits must be picked up immediately.

Affected children will be cared for in a separate area of the room and will be reassured and comforted.

Parents are required to pick up children within 30 minutes. You must have a valid contact phone number when your child has been left with us in case of illness, behavioral issues, or emergency. Failure to respond to calls for immediate pick up, or pick up after more than 30 minutes may result in immediate disenrollment at our sole discretion without recourse.

Emergency contact and procedures for parents
You, or an emergency contact, must be available at all times that your child is in our care. You must also have arrangements in place for your child to be picked up within 30 minutes in case of emergency or illness. If your child is with us during an emergency event such as a storm, earthquake, fire, etc. the teachers will stay with them until transportation can be provided. The teachers will begin calling parents/emergency contact numbers ASAP. It’s very important that you keep us up to date on your contact information.

In case of an emergency such as fire, storm, or earthquake, you will need to come pick your child immediately. We ask that parents not try to call the school directly and to leave our phone line open for emergency only calls. When you arrive to pick up your child, you will need to cooperate, park, and enter the building without blocking or interfering with the efforts of emergency workers. You will need to check in with a teacher and sign your child out. Do not leave with your child until you have signed them out so that teachers are able to account for all children at all times. If we must be moved to a new location, you will be contacted through the emergency contacts you have listed on your child’s Emergency Medical Form.
