How to enroll your child at
Morning Star School:
Miss Karen founded Morning Star School in 1997 after completing her accreditation in Early Childhood Education at Lake Washington Vocational Technical College. Frustrated by the lack of high quality children’s services, she joined her family’s long tradition of service in the education system (her Mother and several other members of her family have been teaching in Washington State for over 70 years beginning with her Grandmother in a one room school house in Skykomish). Prior to teaching, Miss Karen had a 14 year career in Civil Engineering Graphics and holds a B.A. in Graphic Arts from Central Washington University with a minor in Engineering Graphics as well as an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.
All staff members must be accredited in the WA State STARS program with at least 30 credits in STARS Basic as well as taking 10 credits per year in continuing STARS education. We also require CPR/First Aid, Blood borne pathogens as well as HIV/AIDS pathogen training for all staff. All staff must pass a Portable Criminal Background Check using finger prints through WA State.
Our teachers are educated, credentialed professionals in addition to being friendly care takers who truly love children and enjoy watching them learn and grow.
Morning Star School, Inc. is nondiscriminatory and will provide equal service to any child regardless of familial status, race, color, sex, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or disability according to ADA requirements.
